Description:
A community for fans and non-fans alike of MU, Pixar's prequel to MI.
This is a community for both fans getting ready and excited for the upcoming Monsters University, as well as those who are not happily anticipating the prequel and would like to share their thoughts/feelings on the matter. Monsters University is a feature length prequel to Pixar's 2001 hit Monsters, Inc. In MU, Sully and Mike have actually known each other since grade school, but actually have always hated each other. Both are accepted into the University of Fear and are upset about the other one attending the same school. What’s interesting is that both monsters are training to become Scarers, which is equivalent to being an astronaut or a football star in the monsters universe.

The new Monsters Inc. movie is going old school.

In the 2001 original, Sully, the big, blue beast voiced by John Goodman, and Mike, the eyeball with legs voiced by Billy Crystal, were just a couple of working stiffs, punching the clock at the scream factory that generated power for their world, but on Tuesday Disney/Pixar announced the long-awaited next film in the franchise would go back to their days as college students.

Monsters University is set for a mid 2013 debut (having been pushed back from its orignal late 2012 debut), and Both Crystal and Goodman will return as the main characters, according to Dave Hollis, Disney’s executive vice president of worldwide distribution. Steve Buscemi is scheduled to be back as Randall Boggs, the chameleon-esque antagonist from the first film. New to the film will be Dave Foley (who Pixar fans will remember as the voice of Flick in A Bugs Life), Julia Sweeny, Joel Murray and Peter Sohn (who previously did the voice of Emile in Ratatoille).

“The film is a prequel that tells you a little bit about how [Mike and Sully] first met, attending Monsters University,” Hollis told theater owners gathered in Las Vegas on Tuesday for their annual CinemaCon convention. “Obviously everybody knows at this point Mike and Sully are amazing friends — the best of friends — but as it turns out, in this story, that wasn’t always the case. From the moment they met at university, they could not stand each other. This story takes you through the ups and downs, and how they overcame their own differences.”

Disney/Pixar's Monsters University is scheduled for release June 13, 2013.

THE RULES
HA. There are none! College students do not need rules~!
...Oh wait, yes, they do.

Rules/Guidelines:

1.) Let's just have fun with it! We do not censor folks here, so get your freak on and post! All we ask is that anything large, such as fanfiction, images, large videos, etc, go under a LiveJournal Cut (see directions below). Everything and anything related to Monsters University is allowed here (That includes: fanart (can be doujinshi), fanfiction, video posts, discussions, etc.); just keep it friendly!

2.) Porn and Slash IS allowed (whether it be fanfiction, fanart, and the like), but keep adult content under a LJ-Cut, and ADD WARNINGS TO YOUR POST. Please be considerate and fair to any members who are not fond of such things.

3.) No rude or abusive comments (a.k.a. trolling). We are all friends here. Yes, this community is for the fans as well as for the non-fans who want to get their Critic Cap on. Discussions on the prequel, whether you are anticipating it or not is welcomed. We are not going to always agree on things, and that's okay-- but remember to take a step back and relax if a discussion becomes too much. If your thread gets out of hand for ANY reason, please contact a mod for help with crowd-control. :) But be aware, your posts/comments have consequences and your opinions likely differ from the opinions of somebody else, somewhere. Also, locking or screening comments (except in cases where there's a reason to keep responses private) is best avoided. Also, please keep swearing to a minimum.

4.) TRY NOT TO SPAM. Yes, I want the community to be active, but posting multiple times a day, while great and all, can be a bit tiring for the rest of us. Try to condense content down into one large post if you have many little things, or at least give a couple hours between postings. Give others time to have THEIR content up at the top of the community, too. :D

5.) Please keep ALL entries members-locked (meaning you have to join in order to see the entries); this is only to keep out spammers and trolls.

6.) Also, when you post an entry, PLEASE TAG the entry to the best of your ability. For example, when you post fanfiction, tag your post: ''fanfiction'' or when you post fanart, tag your post ''fanart''. Same goes for vidoes, or gifs/graphics, etc. And make a list of characters as well. For example: ''Randall Boggs'', ''Mike Wazowski'', etc. This is so members can search for stuff more easily in the archives. This also keeps posts organized!

7.) But most of all, have fun!

I realize that some of you are new here and not used to the whole LJ system yet, so here's some things to help you out! ^^

OH GOD LIVEJOURNAL IS NEW AND SCARY, HELP ;A;
Don't panic! LiveJournal can be overwhelming at first!

How to join our community:
Check the community's profile near the very top-right. You are given two options: "watching" the community, and "joining" the community. Watching the community causes our posts to show up in your Friends Page, among any other journals/communities you are watching. You can skip this option if we post too frequently for you. To post/contribute to the community, you will need to at least join the community. :)

How to handle tags:
Your helper brainbots do the majority of the tagging work, but this community is still a group effort. PLEASE, especially if posting fanfiction-- we ask that you tag your own work. In the case of fanfiction and fanart, please try to tag: characters included, pairings included, and genre, and rating doesn't have to be included in the tags, but at least in a fic description in your entry before the LJ-cut. Please also label your work as "fanworks: fanart" or whatever it may be. Remember, you may select pre-made tags as well when you go to make your entry, if you're not sure what to tag it with. The community has PLENTY of tags you can choose from! However, if you see a tag that's ''missing'', you may create a new tag and add it yourself (as all tags are open to members). Your efforts to help us stay tidy and organized are very appreciated! Helper brainbots get tired, too! <3

HTML is confusing... that's why we use Rich Text... Also what is a LJ-Cut?
Well, time to learn for those of you who are new:

Here's another helpful tutorial with pictures (although it uses the old dialogue box, but the LJ-cut icon is still the same):
